Four months
Nina is no longer a newborn. She’s a happy milk-loving, thumb-sucking, babbling baby who falls asleep independently! It’s been pure joy watching her discover the world around her.
She loves spending time on her play mat and has gotten quite good at grabbing her toys!
Now that she has more of an attention span, we’ve been reading and looking at books. While sitting on our lap, she’ll hold the open book in her hands which is just so cute.
I take her outside everyday, weather permitting. We look at the plants and flowers and enjoy the warmth of the sun. Hopefully lots of camping trips are in her future!
Diaper changes are much more enjoyable now and a time for bonding. She usually blows bubbles and tells me stories.
Bath time is definitely a favorite! She’s about to grow out of the bathroom sink…
I’m savoring every moment because my maternity leave ends in about one week. I’m extremely grateful for Rene’s parents who’ve been staying with us for the past few weeks. They’ve helped me transition into a new routine as I prepare to return to work. It won’t be easy being away from Nina but knowing she has such loving caregivers gives me peace of mind. She needs a happy, well-balanced mother, and that’s what I intend to be.
